Applications are invited for a PhD position in experimental physics to work on the fabrication and characterization of spin torque devices based on ferromagnetic metal/oxide heterostruc-tures. Candidates shall possess good command of oral and written English. Female applicants are particularly encouraged to apply and will be screened first. Experience in clean room na-nofabrication and/or electric transport measurements is considered as an advantage but is not a strict requirement. The position, funded by a European Research Council Grant, is part of a collaboration with CEA-SPINTEC in Grenoble, France, where the successful candidate is expected to spend research periods of up to a few months per year. The candidate will take part in the PhD program of the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. The position is available from January 2010 on.
