HERE YOU WILL FIND GREAT OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS AND POSTDOCS

Training opportunities

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

Undergraduate students from all around the world will find CIN2 an ideal place to get introduced to the world of scientific research. Come with us and participate in our research activities, be part of one of our 13 groups, and take advantage of the environment, our facilities and the expertise of our researchers. This is your opportunity, as it was in the past for some of our current PhD and Postdoctoral researchers, who began as undergraduate students with us. Send us an email to info@cin2.es with your full CV and a letter of presentation, stating your interests and the research lines in which you are most interested. Several possibilities for funding are available, and will be announced in the ‘training opportunities' link below. One example is the call for CSIC ‘Short Research Stays' Scholarships, which are offered around the end of the year to undergraduate students of any nationality.

PHD STUDENTS

If you hold a University degree, you have a good opportunity to continue your education at CIN2, while doing first-line research in nanoscience and nanotechnology. The CIN2 is located at the Campus of the Universidat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), where you will find a variety of top-level Master and PhD Programs that will fit your interests. You may register in the Master in Nanotechnology, which is an ideal way to enter in the CIN2 world. There are other possibilities, as the Master in Materials, and the Master in Advanced and Professional Physics. You can try also with Postgraduate programs of the CISC.

UAB is recognized around the world for the quality and innovative character of its research and for its role as the coordinating centre of a major science and technology hub: the UAB Sphere. UAB offers nearly 90 PhD Programmes, organized in 5 areas of knowledge. Go in and check what fits for your interests. There are several good Scholarships for PhD's available for you.

Our PhD can also do their research with us while being enrolled to a PhD Program in any of the other 11 universities in Catalonia, or elsewhere in Spain. [+]

The Master in Nanotechnology belongs to the Official Postgraduate Programme in Engineering, it gives you 90 to 120 credits, according to your previous training. UAB official master's degrees and interuniversity degrees coordinated by UAB cost 29.88 euros per credit for EU citizens and non-EU citizens who hold a Spanish residence permit. If you are not a citizen of the European Union and do not hold a Spanish residence permit the price per credit is 45 euros. This master's degree is the gateway to the innovative field of nanotechnology with a focus on all the current research and professional sectors involved in this field. The main objectives are: a) to apply the skills acquired in the field of nanotechnology to the analysis, reformulation or generation of new nanotechnology-based applications and products; b) to assess the scientific and technological importance of current and future nanotechnological developments and their potential viability as a business.

The research specialisation offers you the chance to discover the latest innovations in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology and to work with commonly used techniques through work experiences that are carried out in advanced nanotechnology centres. This is one of the best options to be part of CIN2.

The Master in Materials deals with the elaboration of new materials and the development of new applications requires the expertise of professionals from many different fields. For this reason, the master's degree has a strong interdisciplinary dimension, thanks to the collaboration of a powerful group of prestigious researchers and professionals from different departments, institutions and businesses in this sector.

The main objective of the Master's degree in Advanced and Professional Physics is to offer a solid and extensive training in physics, with two possible specialisations. The first is aimed at training specialists to enable them to successfully begin a research career in physics. The second specialisation is designed to provide specific knowledge and the cross-curricular skills needed for professionals to work in both the private and public sector.

Many of the CIN2 researchers are responsible or take part in some of these Masters Programmes.

POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHERS

Either if you come funded with external sources or with any of the Postdoctoral openings from CIN2 (see job offers), here you will find the best way to advance in your career. You will work with some of the best specialists in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, using top-quality facilities and equipment to develop your research projects and ideas. Our group leaders have plenty of experience in working with, training and promoting postdoctoral researchers coming from other institutions. CIN2 offers an international environment, with staff coming from all around the world. If you are interested, check out our research lines and groups and contact the corresponding Group Leader or contact person, or apply for any of our openings.
