Small Molecules on surfaces in ambient and pristine conditions Group
Jordi Fraxedas (Tarragona, Spain, 1962) graduated in Physics from the University of Zaragoza (Spain) in 1985, and obtained his Ph.D. (Dr. rer. nat.) in 1990 from the University of Stuttgart (Germany). His thesis work was performed at the Max Planck Institut für Festkörperforschung and at the Berliner Speicherring für Synchrotronstrahlung (BESSY), under the supervision of Prof. M. Cardona. After a post-doctoral position at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) in Grenoble (France), and an Established Researcher position at the European Laboratory for Particle Physics (CERN) in Geneva (Switzerland), he joined the Institut de Ciència de Materials de Barcelona (ICMAB) of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC). He is now Group Leader at the Centre d’ Investigació en Nanociència i Nanotecnologia, CIN2 (CSIC-ICN) since Septembre 2007. His research activity is focused towards two-dimensional molecular systems studied by means of scanning probe microscopies and photoelectron spectroscopies making use of synchrotron radiation.
